Fender's American Original Series guitars capture the classic feel of decades-old legendary guitars, with modern features, components, construction technology, and feel. Fender's Telecaster was the world's first solidbody electric guitar. Bringing the guitar to mainstream use, players praised it for its affordability, timeless looks, and solidity. As the world changed in the 1960s, so did the Telecaster, most notably the 1964 Telecaster Custom. This is the model the Fender American Original '60s Telecaster was based on. It was softened with the addition of a rosewood fingerboard, body binding, and a handsome top. The classic 1960 C-shaped neck is combined with a modern 9.5" neck curve, and the vintage-style long frets allow for lead solos that would be difficult to achieve on the '64 original. The Pure Vintage '64 pickups have been meticulously recreated to deliver pure woodwind Tele twang, from the Alnico III coils and magnets to the enamel-wound strings and cloth-wrapped output strings. For a modern Tele with a classic visual feel, you won't find anything better than the Fender American Original '60s Telecaster.
