Responding to customer requests over the years, the Midas XL48 DIG-LOG Microphone Preamplifier combines the best of the analog and digital worlds. The XL48 features eight classic XL4 series mic preamps in a 19” 1U rackmount enclosure with acclaimed 24-bit 96 kHz ADC low latency converters with overload protection from the Midas XL8 Live Performance System and a precision reference clock oscillator with 1 part per million (ppm) stability.
Other features include high and low pass filters, 8-segment LED input meters and separate phantom power, polarity inversion and -20dB pad switching on each channel. The XL48 has AES3 and ADAT optical digital and analog outputs, all outputs can be used simultaneously, allowing the XL48 to be used as a multi-function analog and/or digital mic splitter. Audio sample rate support with optional synchronization to an external clock.
The XL48 is ideal for use in portable recording, separating analog and digital between consoles or enhancing the performance of other mixing consoles with the Midas XL4 mic preamp, XL8 analog-to-digital converter and 1pp precision reference clock oscillator.
