Natal was founded in 1958 by renowned British percussionist Alan Sharp, who was unable to find the exact instruments he wanted to play and decided to take individual parts and build them himself. His Afro-Cuban bongos were a prime example of quality and orders poured in from then on, leading to the birth of Natal Percussion in 1965. Continuing Alan’s legacy, the Natal design team has created a wide range of drums, snare-drums and hardware. Each part and component is designed down to the smallest detail. Natal is committed to producing drums and hardware to the highest quality standards. Since 2010, Natal has been a member of the world-famous Marshall family, and has remained faithful to the original design to this day, a design that has captivated countless musical icons, even using only the original molds in the company's production process.

With fiberglass shells (a material pioneered by Natal), and natural leather heads, the Natal Classic Series congras produce excellent volume and distinctive sound. Featuring sturdy chrome-plated hardware including Natal's own "Comfort Hoop" hoop, natural leather heads and sturdy tuning screws.
