TAMA H-JCS Jeremy Colson Signature Hickory Sticks

Tama began manufacturing drums in 1965 under the name “Star Drums”, and the Star name is still used for Tama drum models today. Tama was one of the first manufacturers to offer super-strong hardware, and a drum mounting system that does not intrude into the drum shell. Tama drums and hardware are world-renowned among the top brands, and are also truly renowned for the quality and reliability of their drumsticks. Tama drumsticks come in a wide variety of models and undergo a rigorous quality control process involving carefully selected wood.

The most famous of these is from Steve Vai’s band, Jeremy Colson’s signature stick is made from American hickory, and is 16.5mm in diameter and 422mm long. The different stick shapes suit both left and right hands. The right hand has an acorn-shaped head for a big, thick drum and cymbal sound, while the left hand stick is a “percussive” type, with a paired head shape, unsharpened for a solid, heavy backbeat. (These shapes can be reversed if you are left-handed.)
