Strumming into 2020, Ibanez unveiled the AEG50—a harmonious addition to their AEG series of acoustic/electric guitars. Crafted in both China and Indonesia, this musical marvel dances to different tunes in each market, showcasing unique specifications.
The AEG50 features a thinner grand concert-shaped body with a soft Venetian cutaway. The top is laminated spruce with black and white binding on the Sapele or Okoume back and sides with a high gloss finish. The round soundhole has a black & white acrylic rosette. It has a satin-finish Nyatoh neck with a 25" scale, 20-fret walnut or laurel fingerboard with small white dot position markers. Components include a plastic saddle in a walnut or laurel bridge, Ibanez Advantage bridge pins, a plastic nut, and chrome Ibanez die-cast tuning machines. Electronics consist of an Ibanez T-bar II undersaddle pickup connected to an Ibanez AEQ-TTS preamp with an onboard tuner and LCD display powered by a 9V battery and ¼" stereo output jack.
