At TAMA, our tireless production team has focused its efforts on direct-drive bass drum pedals. Direct-drive bass drum pedals offer a unique benefit – instant energy transfer and faster beater movement. However, our production team saw the opportunity to design a direct-drive pedal with the perfect balance and alignment of three important performance factors: Power – Speed – Feel.

We identified three key design elements: the direct drive linkage, the drive cam, and the drive/footboard connection angle. We worked closely with a diverse group of TAMA artists to develop a deep understanding of what experienced players want and need from a direct drive pedal. The conversations between the production team and the artists allowed us to understand the subtle mechanical relationships and angle alignments. This led us to an optimal design approach that overcomes the feel and power challenges that exist in some other direct drive pedals. We named this mechanical design the Dynamic Synchronization System.

TAMA's Dyna-Sync pedal defines a new balance of power-speed-feel in a direct-drive pedal and shatters assumptions about this type of pedal. We're excited to give drummers of all styles and abilities the opportunity to use a variety of pedal controls to explore a completely different direct drive feel.
