Tama began manufacturing drums in 1965 under the name "Star Drums", and the Star name is still used for Tama drum models today. Tama was one of the first manufacturers to offer super-strong hardware, and a drum mounting system that does not intrude into the drum shell. Tama drums and hardware are renowned among the world's leading brands. The Tama Club-JAM drum set features a 6-ply 7mm thick Marsawa/Poplar shell with a unique grain. The kit incorporates some ideas from classic drum kits, such as a cymbal stand that mounts directly on the bass drum shell and bass drum legs, allowing for a setup that is separate from a regular small drum kit. The shell is surrounded by a 3-flanged rim for a thick, classic feel and is decorated with antique round badges, which you won't often see on Tama instruments and add a distinctive, familiar feel. The compact size and construction make this drum set ideal for active drummers, and suitable for any stage presence, yet with a smaller footprint.
