The Gretsch Renown is one of the most versatile drum kits ever made. The Renown features the classic Gretsch 7-ply maple shell, with a 30-degree flange and exclusive “Silver Sealer” outer shells. The Renown also features a twist with the drummer-favorite “302” rims—the same rims Gretsch uses on its Brooklyn and Broadkaster series. The Gretsch 302 rims create the desired focused sound, with a cast-rim sound but with a lighter weight and less stiffness, allowing the drums to “breathe” more freely and achieve maximum resonance.
